Exercise balls are divided into three main types:
- The ball has a compression (usually very cheap), is contained in a regular plastic bag. This type is rarely used, except for fun because of its poor bounce. If used, the ball will fail immediately after only a few hours.
- The ball without compression (also cheap) is the type commonly used when training. The bounce of these types is on the lower end, but is perfectly acceptable. The outer shells will sometimes break down very quickly, but they can be a good choice if you’re training with the machine.
- And finally, the compression balls are usually packed in boxes that also contain compressed air. These are the ideal training balls, for professional athletes, and they are close to the quality of a competition ball. However, the quality of this ball is not uniform.
